The One Element You Need in Your Webinar

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

Ever had this happen to you? You show up for a mandatory conference and find that the refreshments stink unless you love those chewy hotel candies and prefer water over caffeine-laden drinks. And they seem to crank the air conditioning to high even though it’s November with the threat of flurries. But the best is yet to come; your presenter is the company’s accountant, a bland man who put together fifty slides with fifty bullets on each of them. But wait, is that clipart? Oh, yes, you would rather hear nails scratching a blackboard by this point. And isn’t that kind of Mr. Accountant for reading each and every word on his powerpoint… You pinch yourself to see if you are asleep, but you don’t wake up.

Failing to plan properly for a webinar will leave your audience bored to tears. But unlike physical seminar attendees, your webinar attendees can completely tune you out by clipping their toe nails or, worse, spending the time working on their most mundane, neglected administrative chores.

Keeping your webinar attendees interested and engaged is mandatory if your goal is to host a successful web conference. You can achieve this several ways, but without question the one we discuss here is undoubtedly the most important. If you would like to learn about more tactics, sign up for Quote Stork’s newsletter using our link below.

The most important ingredient to a successful webinar is curiosity. That’s right, curiosity will keep your audience interested and engaged. By maintaining their curiosity from slide to slide, their minds will seek out solutions to the presented problems (instead of solutions to get out of the meeting). And the best part is that your audience will find themselves begging for the next slide, anxious to see what comes next.

There are plenty of ways you can motivate curiosity in your webinars. The easiest way to find tips is to study some of the most popular visual media; the film industry. Successful filmmakers know the importance of keeping the audience’s curiosity level high. Darth Vader comes to mind — Lucas kept us coming back time and again, even after we knew he was Luke’s father. What Happens in Vegas kept us watching because we wanted to see how this one-night-stand would work itself through. Miami Vice — how will Crockett and Tubbs get out of this one? You get the point; a curious audience keeps watching until the end, and you reap the rewards.

To accomplish curiosity, present a problem instead of all five hundred answers. After all, the best managers are those that empower employees to offer the “means” toward the corporate “end.” Of course, the manager usually has a rough roadmap in mind when soliciting advice from employees and the webinar provides a great medium to visually present such a broad roadmap.

As an example, a financial adviser might understand that bearish periods where market valuations are low, the best thing to do is invest. Now, this is an answer and even the most mediocre financial advisor can come up with at least a hundred bullet-point reasons to invest. But instead of providing answers, provide questions. What do you do when gas prices are high? (You only fill partially, or you drive on empty). What do you do when gas prices are low? (You fill up everything, including the lawn mower!). What has Carl Icahn done time and time again? (Taken advantage of cheap companies and flipped them at a gross profit). You get the point — all of these questions point to one answer. Buy low (ahem, today) and sell high (well, about 2 years ago!).

Citrix Online leads the market with their GoToWebinar solution. Through Quote Stork Solutions, enjoy a free trial and an additional $10 off your first payment (if you subscribe). GoToWebinar allows unlimited webinars throughout the month, meaning you can as many clients and employees as you want.

Brand and Deliver – Your Product In the Loop

Saturday, November 8th, 2008

You know the feeling when you have a really great idea that you think might be worth a fortune if only you could get it out there?

The potential of your idea excites you until you hit the streets wanting to promote it. The glare of the neon which represents all the other wannabe great ideas is blinding and confusing and could easily dampen your spirits were you not convinced of the power of your product.

A little bit of glamour and a little bit of carefully crafted polish can go a long way in promoting something that while showing undoubted quality, is really struggling to get off the ground. An informed nudge in the right direction can send your idea into the stratosphere that is the hungry market place.

So what are the foundations to build success on? What kind of makeover is needed to transform a brand name that is genius but painfully obscure into something that is on peoples minds everywhere and causing a real buzz?

Your goals are brand awareness and brand recognition. How do you get there?

Brand Identity: Your product or event needs an identity, does it have one? How do you bring your brand to life and make it dance in the limelight?

Brand Strategy: Your brand has now established an identity so what do you want it to achieve? What results are you looking for? Which people do you want to reach the most? How do you make sure it happens?

Brand Building: You have given your brand an identity you are happy with and you have devised a strategy for your brand. What tools will you use to make your strategy work smoothly and efficiently?

Once you have climbed these particular steps your brand should be ready for the rat race that begins once it is in the public eye. The hustle and bustle of competition, the pushing and shoving of myriad other brands diving for the spotlight of fame and fortune.

It is now that the tools you have chosen to employee will be needed the most. Have you chosen the correct tools for your brand? What tools are there? How do use them when they seem so bewildering? Many decide to manage their own brands but for some it is too daunting, to complicated and too technical.

Media relations. Online Pr. Social media Pr. Crisis management. All of these you will most certainly need and the more professionally they are implemented the greater your success will be in the long term.

How I became the hunted instead of the hunter

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008
by John Wallen

I finally made the decision awhile back to give up on all the ways I was marketing on the internet. Everything my up line told me to do, I stopped completely. The results were minimal, it was time to move on.

I new it wasn’t the business I chose to network. I always felt it was one of the best home based opportunities on the internet, with amazing products to build a future on.

I never really had to push myself to get my marketing chores done online. But I was only getting curiosity seekers, people that are not interested in making a lot of money from home. People that would rather spend their time making others wealthy.

I’m a real die hard when it comes to staying on a path to get it done and create success. But I was loosing that spirit, that inner drive I had from the beginning, and that was not a good sign for me.

I knew if I kept using the same old system I was using, the one I was taught from my sponsor, my business was doomed. Look up the definition of insanity, and you’ll know what I mean.

It was more than a few months of being persistent, doing what my up line was recommending. Something was definitely not working, I was doing everything I could, and there was no progress, that was it I had come to the end of my rope.

Let me get to the point, I know there are people making a lot of money in internet marketing. It had to be not the internet business they were in, but what the were doing that most are not. And after some more searching, I found what they are doing and put it to good use with excellent results. This is the best way for anyone to build any kind of network business!

Making Money And Working With Affiliate Marketing

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008
by Anson Hall

Nowadays, there are so many affiliate programs that nearly every kind of product will have its own affiliate program. To this end a marketer can have more opportunities to make money online. And this also lead to the fact that more people are starting in the field of affiliate marketing.

In fact, some people may ask about the advantages of working as an affiliate marketer. There are a lot of advantages. And you may also want to start in this field of business when you know all these.

The first, and probably the most attractive advantage is that it is not difficult to start in this field of business. Both in terms of investment and knowledge, it is easy to start working. As you may probably know, you will need to invest a lot of money if you want to start a business. However, this is not really the case of affiliate marketing, you only need to invest very little amount of money when you start.

The potential income should also be mentioned. In most cases, the affiliate programs will offer very good terms. This means that the commission will be quite high in most cases. Taking a rate of 50% for example, you will be able to make $120 if you can make a sale of $240. You can certainly make a lot of money if you can have two sales each day.

The support from the affiliate programs can also be very excellent. Of course there are some programs which will provide less support. However, you can always stick to programs which provide good support to affiliate marketers.

Of course there will also be some difficulties when you are working as an affiliate marketer. Because there will be lots of people who are promoting the same product at the same time, the contents of your affiliate sites may be very similar to the others. However, you can get around this by creating more unique contents in your affiliate site.

To this end you may already know that the biggest challenge is to make your affiliate site unique. And you will lose the game if you copy all the resources and materials the affiliate programs provide. This is because your website will never be unique if you do so.

A fact which is always true is that there is no free lunch in the world. You certainly need to work in order to earn your living with it. You will need to create one affiliate website for each kind of products you promote.

Hello. I will introduce myself in just a second but first let me get to the point of this article. I am writing this because of the new product launch of the secret affiliate code 2 that is coming out late october.

if you dont know, my name is jake and I have been an affiliate for a few years now.

These days I like to write reviews about products for people to read before they decide to buy.

I would be very surprised if you haven’t heard about the secret affiliate code 2 yet.

The secret affiliate code 2 is all about affiliate marketing. Which means to sell somebody else’s product for a commission.

Picture this for a moment. I am an affiliate and I choose to promote a product on weight loss, this product costs $100 an I get to keep 75 percent of every sale to myself

I’m sure you would like to know that I am actually a beta tester for secret affiliate code 2.

Yeah, I was sent an email the other day asking if I would take a look at the product to basically proof read it.

I will say that the secret affiliate code 2 is great for beginners and is very well laid out, you will never feel stuck again after this product.

The product costs $47, which I think is incredibly cheap to be honest but still im not complaining.

The secret affiliate code is a course of 3 sections that take you step by step everything you need to do.

The main part of the secret affiliate code 2 is the ebook, this is easy to read and is over a hundred pages long.

The second devided section contains a set of mini ebooks. these are their own system on their own but they all contain info in them that supports the main ebook.

The greatest part of the system for me is section 3, this has to be the best part about the secret affiliate code 2.

As you can see that the secret affiliate code is a whole mixture of everything you need to profit as an Internet marketer.

Tips For Successful Freelance Copywriting

Thursday, October 9th, 2008
by Ray Edwards

With the rising prices of the cost of living, many people are searching for ways to bring in more income. Some have turned to taking on a second job, but this can be difficult and time consuming. Not to mention the stress it adds to family life and the original job. This is also more difficult for those people already entrenched in a career, such as copywriters; taking on a second job would be very impractical. But fortunately there is a way to bring in more income without taking on another job: freelancing.

Freelancing has become a successful option for many copywriters who need to make more money. Unlike taking on a second job where you have to learn new skills, freelance copywriting allows you to practice your current profession in a new setting. This way, you are able to use the skills you learned as an employed copywriter to earn more money.

Freelance copywriters can earn more money because they no longer work for a company or firm, meaning that all the income from a project goes directly into their pockets and not to an advertising agency. Freelance copywriters can also acquire more simultaneous work that employed copywriters because they control their project load. Also, if they work hard enough and really practice improving their product, they can work more efficiently, finish projects quicker, and take on more projects in a given time period than regular copywriters.

Freelancing also allows you to have a much more flexible schedule than regular employment because you dictate your own hours. As a freelancer, you do not have to “clock in” like regular jobs; you merely have to get the job done. So you can work whenever it is convenient for you without being locked into a fixed schedule. You must be able to properly budget and manage your time, but you have final control. You won’t find this kind of freedom in many other career options.

Another great benefit to freelance copywriting is that you can work from anywhere that has an Internet connection. The World Wide Web and high bandwidth allow people to telecommute, meaning they can “commute” to work via the Internet. Therefore a copywriter doesn’t have to be in the same area as their client. Which means freelance copywriters can work from anywhere in the world.

Even with all these benefits, becoming a freelancer takes a lot of work. Here are some helpful pointers that will show you what is involved in becoming a freelance copywriter:

Build A Good Reputation

Freelance copywriting differs from other jobs in that your workload is completely dependent on your ability to market yourself and do good work. So one of the most important things you have to do as a freelancer is to get your name known in the industry. Do whatever it takes: attend copywriting seminars and workshops, give business cards to people as you meet them, and offer your services to existing clients. Ask for referrals from previous clients and other copywriters you know in the business. Network with other copywriters and team up on projects. You should also build a portfolio containing examples of your best work and testimonials from past clients. You can then post this portfolio on a website and make it available for viewing.

It’s important to get your name out there, but its also important that you do a good job all of the time. The quality of your work will form the foundation of your freelancing business. You can advertise yourself all you want, but if your product is poor, you won’t make much money. So make sure to do a good job all of the time, and continue to learn how to write better copy. There is a lot of information out there that can help improve the quality of your copy, just search for “copywriting tutorials” or read some books by the experts, like Dan Kennedy. These resources will help you greatly.

You need to be a good businessperson as well who is personable and consistently meets deadlines. People like to hire copywriters that are easy to work with. They also like to get their products by the deadline. Failing to meet project deadlines is one the most powerful ways to severely damage your career.

Hopefully you found this article illuminating. Switching to a freelance career can be very freeing and lucrative. If freelance copywriting sounds like something you could do then do some more research to learn more about it and to see what you would have to do in order to make the switch.

You Too Can Be A Successful Marketer

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008
by Gilbert Hernandez

Becoming a successful affiliate marketer requires that you first decide and commit to working at it until it happens. There are many different methods of achieving success as an affiliate marketer and it is easy to get excited about them but you must focus on one method in the beginning. Once you have mastered your first technique then branch out into other ideas as you gain the valuable knowledge required to use them.

One of the best places to begin your successful affiliate marketing career is article marketing. It is affordable and is a proven method of success. The idea is to get tons of backlinks to your site and to get your name out there and establish you as an expert in the niche you are choosing to go into.

Article directories, ezines and blogs are constantly looking for content and gladly print your article as long as it pertains to the subject matter they talk about. Since you provide them with free content they reciprocate by giving you a free link back to your site and some recognition as an expert in your field. The more links pointing to your site and the more places your name shows up on the internet means more vistors to your site and more sales of your affiliate product.

Since there are thousands of sites to submit your article to this can be time consuming. A solution to this are submission sites. They submit your article to many of these sites for a fee. It is a matter of time vs. money, what is your time woth to you and what can you afford?

One thing to be aware of is the penalty of duplicate content. When a webpage has the same content as another one the search engines penalize the sites and don’t give them as high a ranking. Again, there are services available to automate the process of rewriting your articles and submitting them to the directories for a fee.

Once you have experimented with this type of marketing for your affiliate products another path is pay per click marketing. The biggest PPC company is Google’s AdWords. While the results from this type of marketing are fast they can also prove to be extremely costly if you don’t know how to do it effectively.

When using PPC you bid on a set of keywords related to your niche and pay that price or less each time someone clicks on your ad. It is easy to overbid and see your hard earned money disappear and it is not unusual to bid too little in a competetive market and get absolutely no traffic. This is one of the most profitable marketing methods available and also one of the toughest to master.

One more form of affiliate marketing involves web 2.0 products. These include blogs and social bookmark sites. The idea here is to write about your product on the different sites and link it to your blog. You also write comments on other blogs and leave links back to your blog which is where you sell your affiliate products.

If you focus on one technique and master it you will see results quickly and be on your way to being a successful affiliate marketer. Once those results start earning you money it is a good idea to expand your horizons and learn a new method for getting traffic to your site. As you add more methods to your arsenal and more income streams you will know that you have become a successful affiliate marketer!

Keys to Creating an Effective Mobile Advertising Campaign

Monday, September 15th, 2008
by Fredrick Simmons

Mobile phone marketing, otherwise known as SMS marketing, is the modern evolution of direct advertising. Direct advertising has always been favored by businesses as a personalized and focused method of reaching new customers and, with the advent of mobiles, SMS marketing has risen in popularity. Mobile marketing is perhaps best defined as the practice of promoting products and services using digital distribution channels to reach customers in a quick, relevant, personalized and cost-effective way.

The most common example of digital marketing is SMS marketing, which has expanded very quickly in Europe and Asia. It is estimated that several hundred million marketing messages are sent via SMS every month in Europe alone. SMS stands for ’short message service’ and is a communication form unique to cells where a short message can be quickly sent to any mobile phone holder. As well as sending material to customers, advertisers can often encourage customers to participate in marketing and brand exposure campaigns by encouraging customers to SMS a specific number at an event in order to enter a competition, to receive a gift or to have their text displayed on a multimedia wall at an event. All of these techniques engages the customer through the medium of SMS and creates brand awareness.

There are a variety of other examples of digital marketing. One example is sending messages via MMS, which is a multimedia version of SMS, allowing consumers to receive messages with color, pictures and video. There is also mobile web marketing, where brands advertise marketing goals through websites accessed by mobiles. Promoters often make innovative use of SMS marketing such as location-based services where consumers are offered specific marketing and other network-related information and promotional material based on their whereabouts. With the range of methods and options available to promoters, it is to be expected that a recent marketing survey found that 89% of major brands planned to market their products through digital marketing by the end of 2008.

SMS marketing is an example of what is known within the industry as “push” marketing. The idea behind push marketing is that that the marketer has to send (push) the information to the consumer in order for the material to be received. This is different to “pull” marketing, a passive form of promotion, where it is customers who seek out the material from sources such as websites or blogs.

There are many positives to SMS marketing. Primarily, the attraction is that this method of advertising can be personalized to the subscriber. This is the ideal in marketing as it means getting the message specifically to the group it’s aimed at, rather than wasting money on an broad campaign. The specificity allowed by this type of advertising, which results in a more economical campaign, is one example why a high return on investment is possible with SMS marketing. Another advantage of SMS marketing is the detailed tracking and reporting of recipients it permits. Through this medium, promoters can track how many users viewed their material and also access detailed information about each user such as their name, their age, their demographic and where they’re located. This permits a promoter to raise profiles of their users; information which then guides future promotional campaigns and, ideally, their success.

It is noted in the industry that push marketing, of which digital marketing is a form, can help drive new revenue and brand reinforcement if it is used correctly and appropriately. This is because it makes customers aware of new additions that they may not know to enquire about already and the way the material is phrased, and even the fact that the material is being delivered by a contemporary, hip medium such as SMS, can say a great deal about a brand and a business.

There are, however, some negatives to digital marketing. By its very nature, it needs a mechanism – the mobile phone – in order to send information. The company, as well, has to make use of specific hardware and applications in order to deliver the message to consumers, which can lead to significant costs. Another negative is the fact that digital marketing is heavily regulated by the telecommunications industry in response to public concerns about what data and marketing they get shown. Most Western nations have laws in place that request businesses to get the approval of consumers before marketing information is sent to them and must clearly provide them with an ‘opt out’ clause if they request to stop receiving content. If companies are found to be in contravention of these laws, network providers can block marketing information by businesses.

As mobile technology improves, SMS marketing will certainly continue to grow in importance.

Conference Bags Can Prove to Be a Necessary Tool

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008
by Matthew Calvin

Over the years, companies have been giving out these bags when they hold major events. They give them during company meetings or yearly conferences. These bags have the usual company name and logo while some even have the date of the conference printed on the bags. In fact, it seems that a conference is not complete unless the company hands them out to the attendees.

There is much to say about giving out conference bags during events. Aside from actually disappointing the attendees when you decide to do away with the conference bags, these bags are actually promotional tools for the company. They can increase the brand awareness of a product and promote the company once they are carried and used outside the conference or event.

The companies or the organizers of the events know that the bags have practical purposes. They are needed to put together all the items and notes of the conference. These items can include the program, background notes, feedback form, name badge and biographies of the speakers. Without the bags, all that he is carrying might distract the attendees. In other words, these bags create a more organized and enjoyable conference for the attendees. The attendees know the importance of the bags when they are attending the event. They are useful, not just to keep the important things of the conference in, but also as a place in which to keep all the other giveaways. Thus, both for the organizer and the attendee, the bag is indispensable.

The perfect conference bag should be more than just the bare necessities for the organizer or attendee. Making the bag useful to the attendee, especially after the event is when it becomes an advertising tool.

Making the bags of durable materials, while maintaining stylishness, and the company’s logo and name is doubly valuable when paired with tailoring the bag to the end users tastes. Not making sure of these combinations will run you the risk of the user discarding the bag, defeating the whole purpose. The fact that an attendee will most likely receive 5 conference bags a year, ensures that the company must order the perfect bag. Make your choice of bags be the one the attendee wants to carry around.
